TeleMate unified call management accelerates business value with expanded role-based security information and event management for all phone systems and VoIP gateways.

In recognition of the fact that today’s market leading security information and event management (SIEM) solutions are unable to adequately address issues related to voice network, the well-known voice and data network monitoring and security solutions provider TeleMate.Net Software has added innovative new features to its Unified Call Management products, having revealed its Voice Security Information and Event Management (vSIEM) solution.

Designed to fill the visibility gap that leaves enterprises and service providers exposed to security vulnerabilities, vSIEM comes with expanded role-based security information and event management features for all phone systems and VoIP gateways.

Integrating seamlessly with core network technologies, it provides centralized, real-time aggregation of all communication activity, supports extensive role-based visualization technologies, and trend-based notification and delivery mechanisms.

“Selective and secure, role-based access to voice network data is mission-critical to organization management for many reasons including regulatory compliance, data loss protection and identity management,” explained TeleMate.Net COO and President, John O’Reilly in a statement.

“Though these topics are typically used in reference to the Internet, the ability of a single system to provide immediate actionable information to executive and operational management, as well as task-based team leaders is a ‘must have’ today. vSIEM couples this flexibility for voice networks with persistent trending from the handset to the public switching interface. vSIEM provides business users a complete picture of how the network is being utilized.”

According to the company, voice security and compliance audits requirements led to the creation of vSIEM. With growing acceptance of VoIP as a mainstream communication technology utilizing IP data networks, voice security and compliance are becoming increasingly important. PBX (News - Alert) manufacturers can also complicate the mining of valuable business insight by generating large volumes of cryptic data needed to associate network activity to an individual, as well as to the source and destination of communication activity. TeleMate's Unified Call Manager and vSIEM are capable of addressing these gaps, according to its maker.

A few months back, the company also released NetAuditor Version 3.1, which expands best-practice network security event management (SEM) strategies beyond basic end-point protection by accelerating the detection and automated response that leading firewall manufacturers omit in their border security offerings. NetAuditor includes automatic end-user identity association, geographic location identification by region, country and service provider, Internet content categorization, real-time monitoring, and network event triggers.
